The plum, which is both sweet and sour, is excellent for the digestive system and slows the movement of food in the body, which increases the feeling of being full.  Its origins are unknown, but it appears to come from the Caucasus Mountains in Asia. The plum’s juice can be fermented, and brandy can be produced following distillation.
