Did you know?
The plum, which is both sweet and sour, is excellent for the digestive system and slows the movement of food in the body, which increases the feeling of being full. Its origins are unknown, but it appears to come from the Caucasus Mountains in Asia. The plum’s juice can be fermented, and brandy can be produced following distillation.
Brandy is an alcoholic drink produced from young white wine that is then distilled. The source of the word “brandy” is not clear, but there are those who claim it is an old myth of a ship captain, who would distill and dilute the wine. This created a wine with a slight burnt flavor, or “burnt wine” – brandy.
